Known as T CrB, is a binary system where a shite dwarf is paired with a red giant. The white dwarf continually pulls hydrogen off of its red giant companion until the hydrogen reaches a critical limit which causes a runaway nuclear reaction on the surface of the white dwarf--a Nova. The T CrB nova occurs once every 80 years. The nova is expected to occur sometime between now and September 2024. It is located in the constellation Coronae Borealis. The binary system is located near IC 4587. The nova will be about as bright as polaris.
